West Hollywood – The Most Pet Friendly City

If you’re looking for a great city to relocate to that is also pet friendly, look no further than West Hollywood, California. West Hollywood is perfect for you and your pet with a great moderate climate, pet-friendly hotels, and lots of walkable streetscape.

West Hollywood is home to over 1,000 dogs per square mile, showing how pet tolerant West Hollywood residents are. The city even has a law that states pet owners are to be called guardians and the pets are to be called companions. These pet policies reflect what awesome core values the city has.

When visiting West Hollywood, you can find several hotels that are extremely pet friendly. Many will require a deposit, but they will supply a dog bowl and little doggie biscuits, or a kitty salmon surprise for your companion. Many of the hotels also provide pet gifts and dog walking services.

You can also take your companion with you when you go shopping or dining. You will often see people dining with their companions in coffee shops and outdoor cafes. There are lots of fun, unique pet stores located around the city such as Heavy Petting Pets, Elite Pets and more. Dog washing services can be found all around the city, along with curbside dog stations, and animal hospitals.

Need a bank account for your pet? Well, you’ll get one with a short trip to Wells Fargo Bank on Santa Monica Boulevard. There, you can open a pet account for your companion, and your companion will even get its own ATM card with their name on it. Inside this branch, you will also find dog treats and water bowls.

West Hollywood even has special events for pets. The city sponsors pet appreciation days throughout the year, an animal walk, and pet festivals where you can find dog activities and pet psychics. The week before Halloween, your companion can participate in a costume contest.

For those who love to go hiking, you will find Runyon Canyon nearby with great hiking trails and a dog park. And, best of all you can take your companion off its leash to socialize with other pets out for a stroll.

I hope to see you and your companion out enjoying West Hollywood.

  1. That is really awesome, thanks for sharing! It is so hard to find accommodations when I travel because my dog is 60lbs. Most hotels, even “dog friendly” hotels have a 20lb weight limit on dogs. It’s sad really, my dog is so well behaved and has never destroyed anything other than robes, nylabones and dryer sheets.
I think now that people are cutting back expenses, not forcing your guests to board their dogs during travel will be profitable.
